3 Hacks for effective anger management

Hello Friends,

In my last few YouTube videos, I spoke about how our behaviour is a strong reflection of our character. In this latest video, I discuss one of the most common behavioural failures seen in leadership—the inability to manage anger effectively. I also share a practical three-step approach to control anger before it controls us.

In my view, anger is often an expression of displeasure when outcomes do not match our expectations. The moment the mind concludes that something is completely unacceptable, emotions can take over and logic may get a back seat.

I suggest three practical ways to manage anger:

1. Control Your Breathing:

The moment you sense anger rising, consciously regulate your breathing. Take deeper, longer, and slower breaths. Controlled breathing sends signal to brain - nothing to worry, everything is in control.

2. Activate Logic:

Pause and ask clarifying questions before reacting. This helps facts replace assumptions.

3. Learn to Give a Benefit of Doubt:

Consider the possibility that what happened may not be deliberate. It could be an error, misunderstanding, or unintended action.

This simple approach helps us stay in control of anger rather than allowing anger to control us.
